Gym64 Proudly Supports Team Jak

Team Jak provides emotional, social and practical support for children and young people aged 0-25 with cancer and related illnesses, their siblings, families, friends and those bereaved throughout Scotland. We operate through dedicated sites called ‘Jaks Den’s’ in Livingston and Aberdeen and via pop up Dens in Fife, Glasgow and the north of Scotland. We also provide support to families at home, online and via hospital support in person on the wards.

Team Jak aims to meet as many of the emotional and relational needs of our young people and their families as possible, using our bespoke programme of emotional and social support so they can build resilience and regain some of the control cancer has taken from them and their lives. This alleviates feelings of isolation, loneliness and social exclusion.

Team Jak is unique in offering ongoing, bespoke support for the child living with cancer and the whole family.
Team Jak’s purpose stems from the lived experience of 15-year-old Jak Trueman on his journey, Team Jak aims to ensure no child, young person, their families, or friends feel alone on their cancer journey at whatever stage, and for however long they need.
